i entered the fun house a long time ago
it was okay
at first but i, in a matter of time
had lost my way
i'm a strapping young man with an endearing dry wit
i was supposed to be capable
don't step on me
don't make me throw up
don't step on me
don't make me throw up
i'm gonna throw up
my training wheels were smashed off my bike
with a ball peen
while i was still on my bike, down a hill
i now careen
towards a broken wood board with a snarl of old nails
can you stop hurrying me along
don't step on me
don't make me throw up
don't step on me
don't make me throw up
i'm gonna throw up
don't step on me
don't make me throw up
don't step on me
don't make me throw up
i'm gonna throw up
i'm gonna throw up
i'm gonna throw up
(you should go out and find her. it isn't safe for children to be wandering about by themselves. who will be there to help you when you get in trouble?)
real world context
this single came to being as a result of a few things: i wanted to try releasing a "promotional" single before the album that it was from, i wanted to release the song "snake throwing up in a hall of mirrors" without including it on the album because other people had "gotten their germs on it", i was antsy to show people the songs i had been working on because i was very excited about them, and i wanted to try uploading faux topic uploads onto my youtube channel because i wanted to move away to the conventional independent music distribution method of cdbaby and the like.
both songs were recorded at my house.
